Moisture Content
The percentage of water present in firewood, measured with a pin-type moisture meter. NZ firewood should be below 20% moisture for efficient, clean burning. Freshly cut green wood is typically 40-60% moisture. Some NZ councils ban burning wood above 25% moisture.
